What a lovely place. The cream tea we had with home made scones and clotted cream was superb and only £3 each, a real steal! The ambience inside was 40s style , the staff were really friendly and the cakes, oh those cakes, looked amazing. A real find and a wonderful treat. Definitely one to visit again!
Fantastic little tea room, beautiful delicious cakes and scones, lovely fresh coffee too. A nice selection of tea. The owner and staff make you feel very welcome. We highly recommend it. Such a delightful place, far from the same old over priced, underwhelming coffee shops you see on every high street now.
As my wife and I love a good afternoon tea, we thought that we would pop into Carriages, and what a lovely experience it was! The staff are welcoming and couldn't do enough for us, the ambience is great and the food and tea was outstanding. There is a huge amount of variety and food in the afternoon tea, so much so we couldn't finish it all and had to take the rest home! It was without doubt one of the best afternoon teas that we have and would thoroughly recommend to anyone. (FYI, they don't do cards so in true 40's style they only take cash haha)
